Shooting Star Trail Bike Ride

If you have never ridden in an organized bike ride, this is a great starter for beginners & intermediate riders.

A T-shirt is included with each regular entry fee.

This is a great opportunity to ride with family and friends through Prairie Visions country. The communities of LeRoy, Taopi, Adams and Rose Creek are working together to host this event.  The terrain is flat while you ride past a lake, rivers and streams, woods and wildlife.  Of particular note are wildflowers and remnant tall grass prairie segments.  Of course, you will ride past farms of corn and soybean fields and pass through small towns.  All routes also pass near many of the 300' tall wind generators.

All the shorter rides are great for families with young children to ride together. Even the smallest riders will be able to pedal successfully on the new and smooth trail.

The Rides:

  • 4 mi Fun Ride - This ride is for 12 & under or over 70 riders. Ruth Nelson is the hostess.  There is no charge for this ride.  Riders may purchase shirts separately.
  • 19 mi Exerciser Ride - all on paved trail
  • 45 mi Workout - Exercise Ride - on trail and paved county roads
  • 60 mi Farm & City Challenger Ride - on trail and paved county roads
  • 100 mi Century Ride - on trail and paved county roads
Check back to this page later for details about the routes and maps for each of the rides.
AAll rides using rural blacktop county roads have check points and excellent rest stops that are about 9-12 miles apart. Food & water are provided.  The course is patrolled by motorcycles and is fully supported with a sag wagon.

Helmets and a Registration Form are required for EVERY rider.
